The Mission

Your mission: witness the power and precision of America's Air Force. Attendance is mandatory. Admission is free.

The 366th Fighter Wing, the Gunfighters, are opening the gates of Mountain Home Air Force Base for three days of raw aviation power. This isn't a spectator sport. This is an experience. The sound of twin Pratt & Whitney engines at full afterburner doesn't just fill your ears. It fills your entire body.

The Gunfighter callsign was earned in Vietnam when pilots of the 366th mounted a 20mm Gatling gun pod on their F-4C Phantoms and scored four MiG kills. The name stuck. Today, the Gunfighters fly the F-15E Strike Eagle, the most versatile fighter in the Air Force inventory, and they're inviting you to see it up close.

Free parking available on and around the base. Follow directions from traffic control personnel. Pro tip: the earlier you arrive, the shorter your walk to the flight line.

  • Hat: shade is limited on the flight line
  • Ear protection: highly recommended, especially for kids
  • Lawn chairs: claim your viewing position
  • Water bottle: stay hydrated, refill stations available
  • Camera: you'll want evidence

Leave at Home

No drones. No weapons. No alcohol. No coolers (policy TBD by 366 SFS). All vehicles and personnel subject to security screening upon entry. This is an active military installation. Please respect all posted regulations and directions from Security Forces.

All Welcome

Accessibility accommodations available. Contact the event team in advance and we'll make sure your mission goes smoothly.
